Borgo di Vagli is a Tuscan hamlet located in the mountains outside of Cortona. On the border of Tuscany and Umbria, Borgo di Vagli has been painstakingly restored by award-winning restoration architect Fulvio Di Rosa. This private escape offers panoramic views of the breathtaking Tuscan hills including a spectacular view of a 10th century Pierle Castle.

The hamlet of 24 homes includes a number of amenities including an authentic Tuscan restaurant, a beautiful outdoor dining area covered by a grapevine laden pergola, a cantina, pool, tennis courts, laundry facilities, miles of hiking trails, a variety of fruit trees with pears and apples and figs for the picking and olive groves that you are invited to harvest each fall with the owners in order to make Borgo di Vagli olive oil.

Imagine the beauty described in Frances Mayes’ book, Under the Tuscan Sun: the charming villages, endless vineyards, rolling hills covered in olive groves and sunflower fields and winding drives leading to Italian villas. Borgo di Vagli is nestled here. When Fulvio di Rosa was renovating Mayes’ house in Cortona he discovered Borgo di Vagli, bought it and over several years carefully restored the hamlet, preserving the buildings’ stone floors, thick walls, mountain views and terraces. He built custom kitchen and bathroom cabinets, arbors, installed hand painted ceramic sinks and furnished each apartment with handmade furniture, antiques and curated local art work.
